Privacy Policy

Aniface ("we", "our", "the app") turns a photo you provide into an AI-generated anime-style character portrait. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

• Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address, your name (Apple only shares this the first time you sign in), and, for Google, your profile photo. You may also use the app as a guest without creating an account — guests can browse and design a character, but need to sign in with a real Apple or Google account to publish it.
• Photos you upload. When you create a character, the photo you select is uploaded to our secure storage and used only to generate your anime portrait.
• Generated content. The anime portraits you create, along with the name, style, and color you choose for them.
• Social information. If you make a character public, its image and your display name are visible to other users in the Discover feed. Follower/following relationships you create are stored and visible on profiles.
• Reports. If you report a character or user, or block another user, we record the report (who filed it, what was reported, and why) so we can review it. Reports are not visible to other users.
• Basic diagnostic data. Standard technical logs (e.g. crash/error logs) used to keep the app working reliably.

How we use this information

• To create your account and let you sign in.
• To generate your AI anime portrait from the photo you provide.
• To show your public characters to other users, if you choose to make them public.
• To operate core features like your gallery, follows, and the Discover feed.

Third parties we share data with

• Firebase (Google). Used for authentication, database storage (Firestore), and file storage. Firebase's own privacy practices apply to data it processes on our behalf.
• Replicate. Your uploaded photo is sent to Replicate, a third-party AI image-generation provider, solely to produce your anime portrait. Replicate processes the image but does not receive your account details.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete any character you've created at any time from within the app (long-press a character in your Gallery → Delete). This removes it from both your device and our servers.

You can also delete your entire account at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account), which permanently removes your account, uploaded photos, and generated characters immediately.

Children's privacy

Aniface is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
